April Playlist

In the past few months we have been sharing our monthly playlists and they have been getting a pretty good response. I love finding new music and making playlists on Spotify, so I also really love it when other bloggers share their favorite songs and artists. This month I made a pretty extensive playlist because I spent so much time traveling and sitting on the beach. It has a significant variety, which is probably why I like it so much! What have been your favorite songs recently?

Seaside Stripes

shorts- J. Crew (Old) similar | shirt- Gap (Old) similar | sandals- Jack Rogers | watch- Kate Spade | necklace- Etsy | glasses- Kate Spade

I guess you could say that I am a little bit bummed as this is my last outfit post from Florida. I will miss the summer clothes and beach backdrop! I shot these pictures right before I left and wore this outfit traveling, but changed into jeans once I got to the airport. These pink chinos were the first pair I ever bought and they have held up so nicely over the past 4 or 5 years. I absolutely love this navy and white peplum- and paired with pink you can't go wrong! I found myself wearing my glasses a lot more over vacation because they were so easy to toss on before going out to any meal and I didn't feel the need to wear contacts while just laying at the beach or by the pool. Paired with my everyday jewelry and silver Jack Rogers, I think this pretty much sums up all my essentials in one look.

Beach Brights

dress- Lilly Pulitzer (old) Spring Version | sandals- Jack Rogers | necklace- Etsy

Last fall I was browsing the In The Pink store and stumbled upon this adorable tee shirt dress for 30% off, so obviously I had to purchase it! It has been way to chilly to wear this at home since I got it, so I knew I needed to bring it on spring break with me. The bright colors are so fun and I love the gold buttons at the neckline. I know that I will be getting lots of use out of this dress this summer, the tree-quarter length sleeve will be perfect for windy nights by the ocean! All the lovely sun I was lucky enough to enjoy in Florida has me ready for some weather like this at home!

Poolside

shirt- Old Navy | shorts- Old Navy | heels- Old Navy | necklace- Swell Caroline c/o

After linking all of my clothing for this post, I am now realizing that everything is from Old Navy. Recently, I have made made a bunch of trips there to pick up a few basics and have left with so many cute things. Whenever I go on vacation, I find myself completely overpacking and just wearing the same outfit multiple times. This trip was no exception and I have wore this exact outfit two or three times- thank you washing machines! This year flowy shorts and pants seem to be trending and I absolutely love it! I feel like I am wearing a pair of nike shorts, but I actually look put together! Typically, I don't wear heels with shorts as I have pretty long legs and it makes my shorts way too short, but this is an exception. Because they are so flowy, I think I can get away with it and it was so perfect for a semi-casual dinner out! I am so bummed to be heading back to Boston today, but I had such a great spring break here in Florida.

Caribbean Colorful

top- Gap | sweater- J.Crew Factory (similar) | shorts-J.Crew Factory | shoes- Old Navy | necklace- Monogram Online

Happy Sunday everyone! This spring break I traveled to the Cayman Islands and had an amazing time.  I was super excited to get away from gross weather New England is known for in April, but even more thrilled that I would have incredible settings for blogging. The beaches were stunning and I had never seen water such a gorgeous color blue. Now about the outfit, I've never really been a fan of yellow as a clothing color; it's not great with my skin tone. However, when I saw these shorts on J.Crew Factory, I knew I had to order them and at least try them on. As it turns on, these yellow shorts, especially since they are broken up with the grey and white patten, look super cute on and I love their pull-on style. Perfect for an island getaway! I'm also obsessed with these shoes I purchased at Old Navy. I love the ankle strap (it seems to be a big trend this year) and the tiny heel is perfect to add an extra inch of height!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday everyone! Apologies for the delayed post, I was emotionally drained from watching Grey's Anatomy last night and then woke up with sun poisoning. Anyways, this week our school was on spring break which was so nice. I spent the first few days at home relaxing and then flew down to Florida on Wednesday morning. The weather has been amazing, the ocean is so refreshing and I have been enjoying lots of delicious food!

One: Sunflowers
I love flowers and have been on the hunt for sunflowers for so long, but could not find them anywhere. Big shoutout to Trader Joe's for coming through! I love the color yellow and they brighten up the room for Spring!

Two: This Dress
Whenever I go on vacation to somewhere warm I always find myself living in dresses. There is noting worse then tight clothes rubbing against sunburns and making them worse. I love this light cotton dress from Three Islands and the pattern is so fun!

Three: The Beach
As I said earlier, it is so nice to be able to sit and relax on the beach all day! The sand is so white and the ocean is surprisingly a really nice temperature! Hoping that the next few days are not accompanied by the awful burns I got on day one...

Three Islands- Part One

dress- Three Islands c/o | sandals- Jack Rogers | sunglasses- J. Crew Factory | bracelet- gift similar

Fist off, let me just say I am ecstatic to finally be in the warm sunshine state! It is so nice to be barefoot in the sand and wear my favorite summer clothing again. A few months ago, we were contacted by Three Islands  to do a collaboration. There were so generous to send us a bunch of goodies and we absolutely adore everything! We wanted to wait until the weather warmed up a bit to shoot our photos, and what better time than spring break? I love the cut of the Julie Dress, and orange has been on my radar for this season, so this dress is absolutely perfect! It is made from a light cotton material, so it is great for the beach but could also be easily dressed up. I know I will be getting so much wear out of it this summer and will look even better when I get a little color! Look forward to a post from Julianna styling her Three Islands apparel soon!

What's in My Carry-On

A carry-on can really make or break your flying experience, so whenever I travel I try to make sure mine is well packed. For the most part I bring some sort of tote bag as my carry-on, however If I need to have all my school stuff with me I will bring my backpack. You can never pack too many charging devices when traveling. Is there anything worse than having all your devices die while in the air? I always make sure to charge up one (or two) portable chargers the night before I leave. You can't sit on your phone for the entire flight, so I always bring a magazine and a book to read. My ears hurt so much when we land, so gum is also a must. I typically toss in a snack or purchase one once I get past security, as options are not plentiful once you get on the plane. I am the queen of spilling diet coke all over myself on the plane, I'll just blame that on the turbulence :) Having a Tide stain stick on hand is never a bad idea. Finally, I just have the essentials- wallet, sunglasses, phone, and laptop! What are your must-have for a positive flying experience?

Island Time

While spring break may have already passed for many of you, I'm currently in the middle of my vacation in the Caribbean (outfit posts to come!). Whether you too will soon be traveling to an island destination or even if you won't be headed anywhere tropical in the near future, why not try to make everyday feel like vacation. I've put together a list of things that have helped bring me to my happy place amidst the relaxation.

+ Mellow music
Some great options include Island in the Sun and my personal favorite, Escape (The Pina Colada Song) You can never go wrong with these warm weather classics!

+ Movies
While I'm sure many of you have already seen it, I love the movie Just Go With It. This vacation classic never fails to make me laugh and pretty much anything with Adam Sandler in it will keep you entertained! Another you have to watch, Cheaper by the Dozen 2. Catherine and I were obsessed with this movie when we were younger; we would watch it on loop and the DVD came with us everywhere!

+ Books
Before you hop on a plane to your destination, buy a few books to read on the beach. I just finished Paper Towns by John Green and thought it was a very good book. I finished it in about 2 days; perfect for lazy beach reading! If you won't be seeing the beach anytime soon, I think simply reading outside in the sunshine is just as effective.

+ Pinspiration
It's no secret Pinterest is one of my favorite pastimes, and pinning things about travel is so much fun. If you're planning a getaway, maybe make a secret board with gorgeous photos and attractions of the place you are going to visit; I know I did!

Is there anything you like to do to get excited for vacation?

Travel Look

tee | cardigan | jeans | tote | sandals | sunnies | necklace
I love flying and I love airports. Something about the anticipation of arriving at my final destination, waking up in the wee hours of the morning and binge drinking coffee is so fun! Although I don't mind travel (except layovers urgh) finding a comfortable, presentable, and weather appropriate outfit can be a challenge. I find that the toughest is flying in the winter, but a close runner up is going from a cold to warm destination or vice versa. In April in Boston, 5 am is not the warmest time but I just try to brave it out for the short amount of time I am outside. When going on spring break, I typically wear jeans and a short sleeve shirt or tank top and throw on a cardigan to stay warm. Always bring some sort of extra layer even if you are going to and from warm locations as the AC on the plane can get quite chilly. Once I get to Florida my tee shirt and jeans will be prefect- consider putting a pair of shorts in your carry-on so you can change in the airport. What is your go to travel look?

Friday Favorites

It's finally the day I have been waiting for, the start of Spring Break! The week before a vacation is always a busy one and this was no exception. With the week of work behind me, I am so ready for a week or relaxation! Julianna leaves for the Cayman Islands today and I am off to Florida on Wednesday! I can't wait to be back at the beach and get a taste of summer! Bring on the sunshine, sea breeze and sandals!

One: Starbucks Iced Peach Green Tea
Being a New England Girl, I am pretty loyal to Dunkin Donuts and love their coffee. However, my favorite summer Starbucks drink is back! I LOVE the peach flavoring to the green tea and it is beyond refreshing. With this drink its go big (venti) or go home!

Two: The New Englander Jacket
We have been loving our New Englander jackets from Charles River Apparel, they are so colorful and perfect for spring! Make sure to enter our giveaway to enter to win one for yourself!

Three: Blue Skies and Spring Weather
This week has been absolutely gorgeous and spring is finally here in Massachusetts. I was able to wear a skirt and sleeveless top to golf practice comfortably. It was sunny and in the sixties-seventies, does it get any better!? Isn't life so much nicer when the weather is nice?

The New Englander + Giveaway

a Rafflecopter giveaway You know what they say, April showers bring May flowers! This month we have been experiencing lots of rain and what's a better way to brighten up a dreary day than wearing a bright and colorful rain jacket? The hot pink and mint will be so cute to sport in the warmer months! Charles River Apparel has so many great options for outerwear, and the prices and quality are great. Originally, we had known them to be the company that made the great windbreakers for our school's sports teams. However, they have so many adorable and colorful products beyond what we originally thought. Julianna and I wear our black golf jackets made by Charles River practically everyday, and now we have a much cuter option to include in our regular jacket rotation. We especially love how lightweight the jacket is. In the spring, no one wants to be reminded of those cold winter days with a jacket that's a little too heavy for the season. We will definitely be packing these awesome jackets in our suitcases for unexpected morning showers over spring break! Do you own anything from Charles River Apparel? If you love what you see, make sure to enter the giveaway to win a nice new jacket for yourself!
