Hair Inspiration

With homecoming this Saturday, I have been into all things, hair and dresses. My hair is naturally very straight, which is very convenient on your typical morning, however it can be super frustrating when I want to do something different. It can hold a curl for about five minutes and beyond the french braid and fishtail, I am not very well versed in the hair styling world. I love browsing through different styles, and I have been loving the simple curled ponytail look. What is your favorite hair style?

Keychains

I finally got a car this week, so I thought that it would be fun to share some cute keychains! Adding a keychain or two to your keys makes them easy to find and distinguishable amongst your friends. There are so many fun options out there, from key fobs to small wallets for your license. I have the little bean boot and american flag keychains and they are so cute and not to clunky. The tassel and monogrammed ones are also so adorable! Which ones are your favorites?

Bags on a Budget

shirt | jeans | flats | tote (similar) | black bag | crossbody
Quick side note- I don't think I have ever taken pictures in this crazy of wind, so excuse my hair :)

I have always been a big bag person, in fact my dad has been nagging me since I can remember about them being all over the place. Whether it's a tote, duffel, or crossbody, you can count me in. Because I love having a variety of bags, I am always looking for inexpensive options that still look nice. I really only have three nice bags, one from Kate Spade, my Longchamp, and a suede tote from Mark and Graham.

Here's where Old Navy comes in. Two summer's ago I came across the tassel tote when I was browsing online and ordered it. I was so surprised at the quality and have used it to death between trips to Vermont and the Cape, as a carry-on for flights, and even as a beach bag. Then last fall, before I went to D.C. I found myself needing a new crossbody. I checked out Old Navy and I found the perfect black one! It is great for walking around the city and can hold all of the essentials. Finally, I stopped in the store last weekend and stumbled upon the black trapeze bag and oh my gosh am I obsessed! I love the unique structure and the size is perfect. It's so chic and kind of reminds me of the Céline nano tote, but about $2,500 cheaper. All of the bags shown above are under $35! If anyone is on the hunt for a cute bag, definitely check out Old Navy in your travels!

Bean Boots

This past week was super raw and rainy and I brought out my navy mocs. They are so easy to just slip on if you are running out and keep your feet dry. I also have a pair of 8 inch boots that I pretty much wear every day during the winter. I got my boots four years ago and they are still in great condition, in fact my mom still has hers from college, so like everything at L.L. Bean the quality is great! Over the past couple of years, bean boots have been backordered until May! As of right now, they are backordered until early December. If you order now they will arrive just in time for the winter months or for Christmas gifts. I honestly could not survive a winter in New England without my bean boots and highly recommend them to anyone that does not have them!

Two years ago, I wrote a post about how I style my bean boots. It is by far and away our most viewed post, so I thought I would write a similar post now as everyone seemed to enjoy the previous one. In my post I styled a dressy look, an everyday look, and a lazy day look. Whenever I post a picture wearing my bean boots, or write an outfit post, people always ask questions about what style I have/recommend. The 8'" are definitely the most popular selling style and the kind that I personally own. If you live anywhere that gets a decent amount of snow, I recommend this style as the shorter ones will fill up with snow. Then there are the shearling lined styles. I have a pair of Sorel snow boots that I wear after skiing or during a blizzard, so insulation was not a priority for me. However, if you plan on using bean boots as your only snow boot I would consider opting for a lined pair, as the original ones are not very warm. Finally, there are the mocs. These are great year round and are nice for the rain or light snowfall. If you have any further questions, leave a comment below! Are you a fan of bean boots?

Friday Favorites

I don't know about you, but this week seemed so long! Thankfully, we finally made it to the weekend! This week got super chilly here and I think it is going to be cooler weather from here on out. Bear with us if there is not a post every day of the week occasionally, as school does come first! I am looking forward to a low-key weekend and catching up on blogging.

One: Converse
I worse my converse two or these times this week. They are the perfect shoe to transition into the fall weather and can be paired with everything under the sun. I have worn them with a skirt, dress, jeans, and leggings.

Last Sunday, my friends and I all went apple picking. This is one of my favorite fall traditions and it once again lived up to my expectations!

Three: School
I have a feeling that I will be saying this every week, but this week was very busy in the school department. I have a test, project, and in class essay today, so wish me luck!

Happy Weekend!

Catherine
