While spring break may have already passed for many of you, I'm currently in the middle of my vacation in the Caribbean (outfit posts to come!). Whether you too will soon be traveling to an island destination or even if you won't be headed anywhere tropical in the near future, why not try to make everyday feel like vacation. I've put together a list of things that have helped bring me to my happy place amidst the relaxation.
+ Mellow music
Some great options include
Island in the Sun and my personal favorite,
Escape (The Pina Colada Song) You can never go wrong with these warm weather classics!
+ Movies
While I'm sure many of you have already seen it, I love the movie Just Go With It. This vacation classic never fails to make me laugh and pretty much anything with Adam Sandler in it will keep you entertained! Another you have to watch, Cheaper by the Dozen 2. Catherine and I were obsessed with this movie when we were younger; we would watch it on loop and the DVD came with us everywhere!
+ Books
Before you hop on a plane to your destination, buy a few books to read on the beach. I just finished
Paper Towns by John Green and thought it was a very good book. I finished it in about 2 days; perfect for lazy beach reading! If you won't be seeing the beach anytime soon, I think simply reading outside in the sunshine is just as effective.
+ Pinspiration
It's no secret Pinterest is one of my favorite pastimes, and pinning things about travel is so much fun. If you're planning a getaway, maybe make a secret board with gorgeous photos and attractions of the place you are going to visit; I know I did!
Is there anything you like to do to get excited for vacation?
xoxo,
Julianna
