Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! Let me just start off by apologizing for being absent from the internet for the past few days! As you all know, we are in the home stretch with school and things are really starting to get crazy. I also had very busy weekend and only had time to schedule posts for Monday and Tuesday. Enough with the excuses, I'm happy to be back! This week was absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and temperatures we consistently in the 80's! I wore shorts and sandals for the first time this season (besides spring break) and enjoyed every second I was able to spend outside!

One: Summer-like weather
As I mentioned before, this week was so nice. I was lucky enough to play a few rounds of golf and soak up the sun. Isn't this tree so pretty? In addition to this, we were able to sit out side for lunch which was such a nice way to take a break from being cooped up in school all day.

Two: Spring Styles
This pictures was actually taken when I went shopping before break, but I could not resist the colors! Steering away from all the neutrals and bringing back my summer brights has definitely been the highlight of my week.

Three: Running Outside
I have been running on the treadmill for the past couple of months and it was s nice to run outside. I'm pretty sure I forgot what it was like to run in the heat and was definitely more tired than usual. Not going to lie, I actually didn't run in these shoes but the colors were too pretty not to snap a picture :)

Because blog posts were completely nonexistent this week, I thought I would also include some links I have been loving this week as well!

Happy Weekend!

The Perfect Pink

When it comes to nail polish, I get hooked on now color and pretty much paint my nails that color every time. This spring I have been obsessing over Essie's Fiji. Light pinks can be tricky. There is nothing worse than a color you have to do five coats for it not to be clear, but this color is perfect. I do one coat and a top coat and am good to go! I own this color, but am also guilty of getting them done in the exact same color. It is so flattering and makes you look tanner than you actually are. I could not get myself to hop on the white nails bandwagon, but this is so much better! I highly recommend picking this up the next time you find yourself in CVS, you won't regret it!

Denim

This spring all things denim seem to really be one of the big trends and I love it! In the fall and winter I practically wear jeans everyday, they go with everything and if you find the right pair they are super comfortable! I don't own a pair of ripped jeans, but I really like the texture they add to an outfit, along with the contrast of pairing them with more feminine pieces. I have tried boyfriend jeans on, unfortunately they look ridiculous on me but if you can pull them off they are so cute! About a month ago I purchased this jean jacket and have been surprised at how much I have worn it (see it styled here). They look great paired with dresses, skirts, colored pants, and white jeans! As for denim shorts, I have been looking for the perfect pair for quite a while now but have really been striking out. I own a pair from Joe's Jeans that I scored at the outlets, but want a slightly edgier pair for summer, concerts, etc. It's surprisingly hard to find a pair that are slightly ripped, fit nicely and actually cover your butt. Do you struggle with finding jean shorts? Where do you buy yours?

Periwinkle in Paradise

top- Madewell | scarf- TJ Maxx (similar) | shorts- Lilly Pulitzer (similar) | shoes- Jack Rogers

This past week was honestly one of the worst this entire school year, hence the delayed outfit posts. I honestly can't believe it's been over a week since I got back from the Cayman Islands, from these photos it feels like I was just there sitting in the sun yesterday! I bought the scarf that I'm wearing at TJ Maxx for $9 dollars a few weeks back. I'm completely obsessed with it considering that I had been looking for a spring scarf with lots of color. I also got this periwinkle shirt from Madewell for a bargain. With the promotion they were running, it came to something ridiculously cheap as well. These pieces were perfect for my vacation as they were lightweight, colorful, and versatile. Exactly what I needed for sunset strolls in the Caribbean!

Friday Favorites

Let's just say that this week was rough. I flew home from Florida on monday. My initial flight way delayed, we missed our connecter, got stuck in Chicago and ended up getting home at 2:30 am. As always, teachers like to get right to business after vacation. I have been swamped with projects and homework. 8 weeks until summer and I am hoping that they go by quickly! This Friday I am reminiscing on the warm weather as most of my Instagram pictures in the last 7 days were from Florida.

One: Seaside
Oh my goodness, Seaside, Florida is one of the cutest little towns I have been to. I kind of reminded me of a much smaller and Southern version of Nantucket or the Vineyard. They had adorable little shops, streets of beautiful beach houses, food trucks, ice cream shops and of course, the stunning seashore. I snagged a coral long sleeve tee shirt that I know I will be wearing a lot between exams and summer nights coming up.

Two: Jack Rogers
It's no surprise that I love my Jack Rogers and I was so excited to get to wear them every day over spring break. My mom snapped this picture while in Seaside- can we just discuss the amazing Instagram backgrounds that they have there.

Three: These Shorts
Over my week at the beach I found myself sporting theses shorts so many times. They can easily be transitioned from the beach to dinner out. I love the navy and white pattern and they are so comfortable. Wishing I was lounging around this pool right about now :)

Happy Friday, and happy May!
