Keeping Up With Your Friends

This year, none of my close friends are in any of my classes. Once you are upperclassmen at my school, there are so many more classes available to take, thus making the chances of being in class with your friends a lot slimmer. Despite the fact that I really only see my friends in the halls and at lunch, we have done a great job of making plans every weekend to hang out or do something after school if we are not completely flooded with work. It really only just hit me that we only have a year and a half before we all leave and go to college at different places. Taking advantage of any opportunity you have to be with your fiends is so important, so I thought I would talk about a few of our favorite things to to together!

+Go to a Workout Class
My friends and I have gotten hooked on spinning classes in the past six moths or so. We always go on saturday or sunday morning, and sometimes to a night class after school. Spinning classes are so fun, the music is amazing and you get such a great workout. As much as I love running with my friends, this is such a different experience, plus as the weather gets colder indoor classes are your best friend.

+Coffee Dates
I am a self-proclaimed coffee addict, and most of my friends are as well. Whether you just stop by at Starbucks, or you have a favorite local coffee shop this is a great way to chat and catch up. Getting a cup of coffee is much quicker than going out to breakfast (although we love to do that as well) and you can swing by during any time of day.

+Go to the Library or Bookstore
If you want to get out of your house, but still be productive, going to the library or bookstore is perfect. You can get your homework done in a relaxing atmosphere and have some company. Also, if you are taking the same classes you can work together or help each other study.

+Rent a movie
Sometimes there is nothing more appealing than staying in on a friday or saturday night with a bunch of your best friends to watch a movie. There are so many awesome movies on iTunes! Bake some cookies and pop some popcorn and I guarantee you will have a super fun night!

+Attend School Events
Going to soccer and hockey games is really popular at my school. Sports games are a great way to get together with a ton or your friends and show some school spirit! Also, we have found that doing community service events together is a lot of fun. It may not be your conventional get together but volunteering at your local food pantry, or helping organize events is actually so much fun and you will feel good about giving back to the community!

What are your favorite things to do with friends?

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! With wednesday off for Veterans Day, this week has gone by pretty quickly! I have a ton of assignments due on Monday, so I know that this weekend is going to be a busy one. Tonight I am going out to dinner with a bunch of friends to celebrate Julianna's birthday! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?

One: This Look
I shot this outfit post this weekend and loved it so much that I decided to wear it to our cross country banquet on Tuesday night. This grey swing dress is one of my favorite fall pieces and for $17, you can't go wrong!

Two: Coffee Shops
Last weekend, my friends and I went to spinning followed by breakfast at my favorite coffee shop! Although I actually got a crimson berry ice tea (coffee didn't seem appealing after a work out), there is something so relaxing about sitting in a coffee shop and catching up with friends.

This week was pretty warm, perfect weather for barbour. I have had this jacket for a year, but I honestly don't think I will ever get tired of it. The olive color and plaid detailing on the cuff are perfect touches for fall.

Current Favorite Shows

After having my Netflix account for so many years, I have pretty much seen all the best shows available on it. I love TV shows because they are less of a time commitment than a movie and you can prolong them as there are so many seasons. Right now I am primarily watching three different shows and I thought that I would share my favorites!

+The Good Wife
I have been dying to watch the Good Wife for ages now, however it is not available on Netflix. A few weeks ago, Julianna told me that all seven seasons are available On Demand if you have comcast! I have been binge watching this for the past week and am completely hooked. The show follows defense attorney, Alicia Florrick. Her husband, the state's attorney was put in jail for political corruption and sex scandals. I highly recommend this show and guarantee you will be automatically hooked!

+Jane the Virgin
This show is definitely very different than the Good Wife, but it's absolutely hilarious. Last year it won a golden globe for best actress performance in a television series. The protagonist, Jane is a twenty three year old in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend, Michael. She is accidentally artificially inseminated and decides to have the baby. Thus, a love triangle forms when she falls for the baby's father, Rafael. This light comedy will have you cracking up and routing for Jane in her crazy journey!

+Quantico
This a brand new show this year and is off to a great start! It is very similar to Shonda's shows and the plot line is extremely captivating. This show follows FBI special agent recruits. You think that you know everyone, until there is a terrorist attack on Grand Central Station and one of the agents is responsible. This twisty and adventurous show will have you on the edge of your seat!

Do you watch any of these shows?

Dresses for Thanksgiving

one | two | three | four | five | six
I honestly can't believe that Thanksgiving is in two weeks. With turkey day just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about what to wear! Everyone's Thanksgiving is different from the food you make to the formalness of the event. I picked out six of my favorite dresses ranging between $15-$200, so there is something for every occasion and budget! I'm not sure what I will be wearing quite yet, but odds are I will opt for a dress as they are much better to eat in than a skirt :) Which dress is your favorite?

Swing Dress + Scarf

dress | scarf similar | boots | sunglasses | bracelet | watch

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Can we discuss how absolutely gorgeous this scenery is? It has thanksgiving and my birthday, so I might be a little bit bias, however November is the most amazing month. The air is becoming crisp and the trees are still filled with the beautiful colorful foliage. This is really the last month to wear autumn clothes, so I am trying to wear the most of my favorite pieces before the freezing winter months arrive. Last year I purchased this grey swing dress from Old Navy and it quickly became one of my favorite basics. The style is very flattering, plus its perfect for everyday wear. I love tossing on a colorful scarf during the fall, the patterns and hues bring the whole look together. These boots add a little bit of height and the leather brings some additional texture to the outfit. Tonight is our cross country banquet and I think that I will be wearing this outfit!
